In the diorama, it blooms quietly yet elegantly along the winter stream.

This perennial grows on wet or water-seeping cliffs in mountainous zones. Its leaves spread radially, sometimes exceeding 40 cm long. In winter, a flower stalk gracefully emerges from the center of the plant and bears white flowers at its tip. This species is highly regarded due to its striking appearance. Endemic to the Ryukyu Islands, it grows in only a few limited locations on Tokunoshima, which marks the northernmost point of its range.

Habitat of This Animal:
A:Forest along the valley - A2:Forest along the mountain streams

In Tokunoshima Island, abundant rainwater carved the ground, forming many rows of ridges and valleys. Plants adapting to the flowing and drying up of water grow in the harsh environment, where water swells and depletes every time rain falls. The waterfront is also a habitat for many creatures, including endemic species, with frogs and dragonflies breeding.
